Our client is a label solutions manufacturer.

THE POSITION

The Chief Operating Officer will be a member of the Executive Committee and will be responsible for creating and implementing the operating strategy for the business. Reporting to the CEO, this position has the responsibility for the operational performance of the company as defined in an integrated supply chain model, which includes make, plan, buy, and deliver.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the execution of the company’s integrated operations plan to ensure strong service delivery, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Develop, review, and monitor operational performance outcomes to assure attainment of objectives. Maintain an effective operations budgeting and capital discipline in conjunction with management to ensure planned revenues, expenses, and/or profit goals are met.
  • Partner with the CEO and other members of the executive committee to develop and execute operations business strategies, plans and procedures.
  • Establish and define key performance indicators to monitor and assess operations performance, safety performance and quality ratings and foster a culture of accountability.
  • Identify areas of opportunities for improvements across the organization, including opportunities to improve revenue, increase margin, reduce cost, and increase profitability throughout the organization all while improving efficiency.
  • Coach, mentor and empower a high-performing team, keeping employees, teams and management engaged and motivated, focused on short-term and long-term growth. Implement a strong succession plan for future operations leaders.
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
  • Partner with executive team to integrate acquired businesses. Consistently review the manufacturing footprint to make sure it fits with customer growth and company cost objectives.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, engineering, or related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Twenty-plus years of progressive operations leadership experience, including multi-site or multi-plant responsibility in a manufacturing environment; commercial printing, packaging, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success improving throughput, quality, on-time delivery, quality and cost structure through operational best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Strong experience with production planning, capacity management, and scheduling in a high-mix, fast-turn environment.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management, including vendor management and inventory optimization.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and KPIs, with a focus on meeting customer SLAs and brand standards.
