THE POSITION

The Chief Operating Officer plays a pivotal role in crafting and executing strategies to achieve financial and operational objectives, all while embodying the CARE values of the organization. This leadership position is responsible for ensuring seamless production processes, stringent quality control and overall operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the executive team to formulate and implement the organization's strategic plan.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable operational plans, driving growth and profitability.
  • Supervise day-to-day labor-intensive manufacturing operations across all locations, aligning them with company goals.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance operational performance.
  • Manage end-to-end supply chain processes, from procurement to distribution, completing the ECG supply chain matrix.
  • Optimize the logistics platform from scheduling to customer delivery.
  • Develop strategies to optimize inventory levels, make vs. buy decisions, and drive production efficiency within the platform.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control processes, ensuring the production of high-quality cabinets meeting customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to promptly address and resolve any quality issues.
  • Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance manufacturing processes, overseeing the organization's MRP implementation.
  • Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering CARE values and a collaborative culture.
  • Work closely with the CFO to develop and manage operational budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with HR / EHS to complete monthly DHEC, DEP and OSHA audits for compliance.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of executive leadership and 15 years of operational management experience in related labor-intensive manufacturing; master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrate a courageous attitude to deliver month-over-month, year-over-year, consistent KPI improvement.
  • Pedigree Lean training and enterprise-wide transformation experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Toyota Production System methodologies such as: process flow mapping, value stream mapping, 5S / visual factory, A3 development and management, TPM, SMED, standard work, process problem solving, built-in quality, just In time, kaizen / continuous improvement, hoshin kanri (SD, X Matrix) and Lean ROI.
