THE POSITION

The Chief Operating Officer will have end-to-end operational leadership responsibility for the business, overseeing branch operations, supply chain and logistics, safety, operational performance and sales execution. The role requires a proven operator who can balance hands-on execution with enterprise-level leadership in a complex, decentralized distribution environment. This leader must be capable of standardizing what matters, empowering local leaders and scaling performance without sacrificing speed or accountability. The COO role is a critical leadership position in driving consistency, margin expansion and long-term value creation across the platform.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own enterprise operating performance, including revenue growth, EBITDA, working capital, and safety metrics.
• Lead regional and branch operations leaders with clear accountability, goals, and performance expectations.
• Establish and drive a disciplined operating cadence (KPIs, dashboards, weekly/monthly reviews, forecasting).
• Oversee day-to-day operations across a large, geographically dispersed branch footprint.
• Elevate professional contractor sales execution, pricing discipline and customer retention.
• Lead integration of acquired businesses, aligning systems, culture and performance expectations.
• Build, coach and retain a high-caliber leadership team.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Senior operating executive (President, COO, EVP Operations or equivalent).
• Significant leadership experience in distribution, building materials, industrial services or multi-site B2B environments.
• Demonstrated success managing a large, decentralized branch network.
• Experience in private equity-backed or highly performance-oriented environments strongly preferred.
• Proven track record driving operational discipline, margin expansion and scalability.
• Track record of integrating acquisitions and scaling operations.
• Strong P&L leadership with data-driven decision-making.
• High-energy operator with a “roll-up-the-sleeves” mentality.
