Corporate Controller

Our client is a production tooling manufacturer.
THE POSITION
The Corporate Controller will oversee all accounting operations and compliances for the company including treasury, transfer pricing, tax, audit, financial oversight and General Ledger management. This person will support Board presentations and work in partnership with the senior leadership team to enhance finance integration. They’ll ensure the company is in compliance with its regulatory requirements, lead monthly global consolidation and closing of the books and ensure the company books are kept per GAAP. This role will supervise a team of two staff members and work closely with external auditors to complete monthly and quarterly reporting on a timely basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure timely and GAAP-compliant general ledger management, account reconciliations and monthly closings across all entities.
- Establish intercompany transaction policies and standardized company-wide fixed asset accounting processes.
- Manage lease accounting and maintained strong internal controls, supporting successful audits for multiple years.
- Lead annual tax planning in collaboration with auditors and manage federal and state tax provisions, including effective tax rate calculations.
- Coordinate and lead month-end close processes, providing variance reports and supporting business controllers as needed.
- Own and optimize near-term liquidity, develop 13-week cash forecasting tools and drive working capital improvements.
- Manage corporate budgeting for IT, Administration, Finance and HR, ensuring leadership is informed of budget variances and financial status.
- Communicate financial results to senior leadership and the Board, supporting strategic decision-making and planning.
- Implement preventive guidelines to strengthen internal controls and proactively manage vendor relationships under private equity ownership.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- An active CPA license, bachelor’s in accounting or equivalent; MBA preferred.
- Over 12 years of experience that includes audit, treasury, tax, financial oversight and reporting, with at least five years in a leadership role that includes working in public accounting and global manufacturing.
- A background working in a private equity-backed environment is highly desirable.
- Highly energetic and a change agent with experience turning around an unstructured accounting setting through process discipline and operational efficiency. Someone who wants to grow their career and take the CFO role.
