Director of Continuous Improvement -- Northeast

THE POSITION

The Director of Continuous Improvement is responsible for leading the enterprise operational excellence strategy while serving as a hands-on operational improvement leader within plant operations, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement. This role drives transformational improvements in productivity, operational efficiency, quality and cost performance across manufacturing, maintenance, supply chain and support functions. The Director partners closely with plant leadership and executive management to identify high-impact improvement opportunities and implement scalable operational solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and lead a multi-year continuous improvement roadmap aligned with the strategic growth and operational goals.
  • Design and deploy the company’s Operational Excellence framework across all manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead the implementation of world-class manufacturing principles.
  • Practice Gemba leadership through regular presence on the production floor.
  • Conduct floor observation and coaching with operators, leads, supervisors and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure CI initiatives strengthen and support food manufacturing standards by aligning improvements.
  • Partner closely with Quality and Food Safety teams to improve operational performance while maintaining the highest standards of product safety and compliance.
  • Develop and implement KPI dashboards and performance management systems.
  • Develop and lead CI training programs for leaders and frontline teams.
  • Build internal Lean Six Sigma capability across the organization.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ten-plus years of operational, manufacturing or Continuous Improvement leadership experience.
  • Five-plus years leading Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence programs across multiple facilities.
  • Experience leading multi-site operational transformation initiatives.
  • Food manufacturing, beverage or CPG industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record delivering measurable operational and financial improvements.
  • Experience improving operations in food processing or similar high-volume manufacturing environments involving frequent product changeovers and large frontline hourly workforces.
  • Demonstrated success leading hands-on continuous improvement initiatives within plant operations environments, not solely corporate or program-level CI roles.
