Our client is a manufacturer and designer of industrial automation and packaging machinery.

THE POSITION

The GM is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all activities of the business, autonomously driving success in operational performance; quality; maintenance; team relations and personnel development; customer relations and order intake; process improvement; financials; and health / safety. This position has supervisory responsibilities over Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Finance, Sales and IT.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute strategies to strengthen long-term sustainable advantage.
• Develop a culture that promotes involvement; communication; expectations and accountability; and a passion for excellence.
• Develop an outstanding team by providing expectations, accountability and direction to direct reports as well as leadership, learning and development and talent management strategies.
• Improve operating metrics through the effective deployment of Lean manufacturing, theory of constraints and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Review performance, develop and approve plans for the control of production against operating plans and standards, including related budgeting and financial estimates.
• Interact with vendors, external partners and consultants as needed.

• A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years of experience in progressive manufacturing leadership roles with proven P&L experience. A master’s degree in business administration or advanced technical degree is desirable.
• A successful track record of having led multiple Lean manufacturing and cultural transformations through fact-based decisions that impact the bottom line.
• A visionary with strong capabilities for influencing, leading and driving improvements.
• Must be strong in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives.
