Our client is a private equity-backed manufacturer.
THE POSITION
The General Manager serves as the senior business leader for the tank manufacturing and nuclear precision product lines, with full P&L ownership and responsibility for commercial strategy, product strategy and long-term business growth. The GM provides overall leadership, setting direction, approving investments and ensuring the site has the capabilities and resources needed to support rapid expansion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own full P&L performance for tank manufacturing and nuclear precision product lines.
- Develop long-term business, product and financial strategies that support aggressive growth targets.
- Lead commercial strategy, pricing and market expansion initiatives.
- Own customer relationships for major accounts, strategic partnerships and OEM relationships.
- Provide strategic direction for product development, technical capabilities and cost competitiveness.
- Provide overall leadership and direction to the Granite City site through the Site Lead.
- Approve staffing plans, major hiring needs and organizational structure.
- Lead the tank manufacturing insourcing strategy, including capital approval, resource planning and sequencing.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment between engineering, operations, supply chain and commercial teams.
- Align engineering, quality and production resources to market needs and delivery expectations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field (MBA preferred).
- Ten-plus years of progressive leadership in manufacturing environments.
- Proven P&L ownership and history of leading growth-stage businesses.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, engineered-to-order products, ASME tanks, nuclear, HVAC/plumbing systems or similar.
- Strong strategic, financial and customer-facing leadership skills.
- Demonstrated success scaling capabilities through capital investment, insourcing or new product introduction.
