Manager, Facilities Maintenance

THE POSITION
The selected candidate will manage and coordinate facilities maintenance activities across several locations within driving distance, utilizing Maintenance Technicians, other site employees and outside resources/vendors. This person will be responsible for the safe maintenance, repair and replacement of facility equipment and systems to ensure maximum safety, equipment uptime, production quantity and quality. The Manager, Facilities Maintenance will review, recommend and oversee capital equipment upgrades and improvements – and support the policies, goals and objectives of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, monitoring and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
- Manages the facilities maintenance activities across one or more facilities including but not limited to the following:
- Oversees the physical maintenance and repair of equipment and systems at one or more sites.
- Responsible for the maintenance of all Material Handling Equipment.
- Complies with the EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements.
- Prompts reporting of any unsafe conditions, practices or environmental concerns to supervision. Resolving potential hazards swiftly, thereby ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of seven years of experience in a manufacturing environment serving in progressive technical roles, with at least three years in a leadership capacity.
- Advanced mechanical and electrical systems knowledge and skills, including knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems and the applicable codes for these systems.
- Must possess a high level of equipment troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Project management capabilities and experience managing capital projects.
- Preferred: Proficient in project management tools such as Gantt Charts.
- CAD experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present information and respond to questions from all levels, including managers, engineers, technicians, production employees, as well as vendors and contractors.
