Manager, Operational Initiatives -- Midwest

THE POSITION

The Manager, Operational Initiatives will lead and drive operational transformation initiatives, ensuring clinical, operational and financial outcomes meet or exceed performance targets. This role partners closely with operational leadership and cross-functional teams to execute and sustain improvement projects that drive the growth of the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead complex, multi-site transformation initiatives that integrate Lean/TPS principles, value-stream analysis and standard work development to improve access, efficiency, patient flow and care delivery.
  • Plan, execute and monitor operational transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and priorities.
  • Translate projects and milestones into actionable operational plans, driving initiatives that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Implement project management best practices to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and accountability across initiatives.
  • Implement operational standards across all clinicals for scheduling, template optimization, patient flow, visit balancing, etc.
  • Serve as a “Transformation Coach” to clinical and operational leaders, enabling them to adopt and apply continuous improvement culture including leader standard work and performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including the Growth Office, Operations, Finance and Clinical teams—to execute initiatives and optimize processes.
  • Deploy and train staff on Lean principles, continuous improvement tools and problem-solving frameworks.
  • Coach clinical managers and supervisors to adopt new processes and sustain improvements.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (business, economics, healthcare administration or related field); MBA or master’s preferred.
  • Four-plus years of relevant healthcare transformation experience, including demonstrated leadership in executing enterprise initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success applying Lean / Six Sigma tools to drive measurable improvements and build organizational capability.
  • Proven ability to drive operational results in a matrixed and complex organization.
  • Experience in healthcare operations, strategy or M&A strongly preferred.
  • Experience working on the provider side of healthcare (e.g., hospitals, clinics or physician groups) preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management and Lean / Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
