Plant Manager

Our client is a roofing and waterproofing manufacturer.
THE POSITION
Our client is looking for two Plant Managers (one for the Southeast plant and one for the Mid-Atlantic plant) who will be responsible for leading and developing plant staff, driving a safe and reliable work environment and achieving annual and long-term operational, financial and infrastructure objectives on site and the glass-mat network. The role will report to the Senior Director of Operations and will work in a matrixed environment to meet all objectives. The Plant Manager establishes and directs all technical and administrative functions in the plant, including manufacturing, engineering and supply chain, while partnering with shared services organizations such as human resources and accounting.

- Leads organizational planning and career development initiatives on site. Provides the team with coaching and mentoring to help them achieve their full potential.
- Provides appropriate leadership, resources and processes to ensure robust plant operations.
- Creates a productive atmosphere that encourages positive reinforcement, open communications, employee engagement and ideas.
- Develops, communicates and evaluates departmental and individual objectives.
- Sets standards to advance initiatives and growth opportunities for the team.
- Drives results for safety, quality, operational/OEE, maintenance reliability, process improvement and cost. Explores and analyzes technical, production and management disciplines to develop annual budgets and long-term plans.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Ten-plus years of demonstrated manufacturing experience, preferably in a continuous manufacturing process.
- Six-plus years of strong people leadership and team-building experience with a demonstrated track record of leading teams to the achievement of superior results.
- Three-plus years of management experience in a represented environment.
- Practical knowledge and experience utilizing world-class manufacturing techniques.
- Demonstrated advanced coaching/motivation.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking and presentation skills.
