Our client is a family-owned contracting company.
THE POSITION
The Production Manager will support the company’s mission to be the best subcontractor on every project by leading stone fabrication. You will be accountable for implementing the client’s Production System to differentiate the team from its competitors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be the safety leader and work with company leadership to implement and maintain a program that ensures every person on site is safe.
- Build, coach and retain a high-performance team. Implement cross-training and standardized work to support operational stability and internal mobility for teammates.
- Implement total quality management (TQM) in which every teammate is committed to maintaining high standards of work in every aspect, thereby ensuring zero defects to both internal and external customers.
- Clearly understand and communicate the voice of the customer (VOC) – both internal and external – to ensure 100% on-time delivery to customer expectations.
- Implement Lean daily management and key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with company and customer requirements. Develop the leading and lagging metrics required to ensure KPIs are achieved.
- Establish accurate standard times and labor content by observing processes, defining tasks and validating cycle times. Utilize this for scheduling, staffing, equipment and continuous improvement.
- Implement total productive maintenance (TPM) – with emphasis on autonomous maintenance – to ensure equipment and processes are available when needed.
- Lead with integrity, honesty and respect. Foster open and candid communication at all levels of the company.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A solid understanding and ability to enforce workplace safety standards.
- Three or more years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies.
- Proven ability to supervise and lead a small production team to meet objectives.
- Demonstrated skill in production planning, scheduling and coordinating workflows.
- Hands-on knowledge of fabrication tools and CNC machinery.
- Familiarity with basic production or management software.
- Formal training in continuous improvement or problem-solving methodologies.
