Quality Assurance Manager -- Midwest or Southwest (hybrid)

THE POSITION

Our client’s seeking a hands-on, strategic Quality Assurance Manager to build and lead the Quality function within the Consumer Products Division. As this is a newly created role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to define and implement QA frameworks, processes and metrics that drive product quality, regulatory compliance and customer trust.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement the foundational Quality Assurance program for the Consumer Products businesses, including policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and inspection protocols.
  • Define QA strategy, goals and success metrics aligned with product and customer experience expectations.
  • Implement scalable tools and systems to track product quality data, non-conformances, supplier performance and customer feedback.
  • Partner with Product Development and Engineering to establish quality requirements during product design and validation.
  • Establish incoming inspection processes for sourced products and raw materials.
  • Oversee product audits, compliance with regulatory and retailer-specific standards and investigation of field quality issues or returns.
  • Hire and develop an agile QA team as needed to scale with business growth.
  • Create a continuous improvement culture by identifying recurring issues and driving cross-functional resolution plans.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management or a related technical field required.
  • Seven-plus years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering, ideally in consumer products.
  • Proven experience building or scaling a QA function from the ground up in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
  • Experience in government regulated industries preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of QA methodologies, root cause analysis, inspection standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with offshore manufacturing (Mexico or Asia preferred) and 3PL partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and lead through change.
