THE POSITION
The Senior Manager, Supply Planning will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the company's supply chain strategy, with a focus on ensuring the availability of goods to meet customer demand while managing inventory costs. Key responsibilities include leading the supply planning team, developing supply chain strategies, collaborating with other departments, monitoring performance, providing root cause analysis and risk mitigation proposals, managing supplier relationships, identifying and implementing process improvements and staying current with industry trends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the supply planning team, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring the team is meeting performance objectives.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in forecasting demand, managing inventory levels and coordinating with suppliers for timely delivery of goods.
- Collaborate with other departments such as Sales, Marketing and Operations to ensure the company is meeting customer demand while minimizing costs.
- Monitor key performance metrics such as inventory turns, stock-outs and service levels to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address them.
- Support the implementation of new ERP and planning systems (Business Central and StockIQ) and establish KPI reporting using new data platforms to understand and improve key supply chain metrics.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts and agreements and ensure supplier performance meets expectations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies and best practices in supply chain management, and use this knowledge to continuously improve the company's supply chain processes and strategies.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least five years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the consumer goods industry is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external suppliers.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team to meet performance objectives.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to understand details but speak at a high level to senior leadership to drive messaging and decision-making.
- Experience with supply chain planning software and tools.
