Vice President, Business Transformation -- Midwest

THE POSITION

The VP of Business Transformation will report to the SVP of Strategy & Execution and be an important member of the senior leadership team with responsibility for providing direction and oversight for critical strategic planning, analysis, transformation and business development initiatives. This person will interact with the company’s key stakeholders, including functional and operational management, the CEO and senior leadership team, the Board of Directors and outside investment bankers and attorneys.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify critical issues and opportunities using both quantitative and qualitative analysis to make recommendations to management on how to optimize near-term and long-term growth and profitability.
  • Assist operating management to compile strategic plans to increase market share and profitably in key regional markets and with targeted market segments.
  • Analyze competitors’ strengths and weaknesses and review and modify on a regular basis to ensure current business plans are aligned for success.
  • Assess new business opportunities (M&A) and their potential impact.
  • Formulate strategic recommendations in response to changes in the economy, industry and competitive landscape.
  • Improve the company’s market share tracking process. Provide a base from which progress can be measured and establish a mechanism for informed change when needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of a robust sales and operations planning process.
  • Maximize and optimize the company’s use of internal and external benchmarking.
  • Actively participate in quarterly divisional business reviews and annual budget meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for Board of Directors meetings as requested.
  • Serve as a sounding board for the CEO and other senior leaders on a variety of operational and strategic initiatives.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • MBA from a top-tier business school and four to six years of experience at a leading management consulting firm.
  • Manufacturing and supply chain experience is required, including expertise in some or all of the following: demand planning, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, logistics, order management, customer service, plant ramp up and continuous improvement / Lean transformations.
  • Strong leadership presence, communication skills and public speaking experience with the ability to influence people throughout the organization on initiatives and strategies.
