Vice President, Manufacturing -- Northeast

Our client is a family-owned ice cream manufacturer.

THE POSITION

The Vice President of Manufacturing is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO and responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process from procurement of raw materials to production, storage and transport to the nationwide supply depots.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the manufacturing division to meet company goals and objectives. Ensure alignment with overall corporate strategy.
  • Oversee the procurement of high-quality raw materials, ensuring they meet the standards for quality and sustainability. Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts to optimize cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Lead the production process to ensure it meets the demands of the business, optimizing for efficiency and effectiveness. Implement production schedules, monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Ensure all products meet or exceed regulatory standards and customer expectations. Maintain Food Defense Plan including GMP, HACCP and HARPC programs and quality control processes and systems to maintain product quality and safety. Maintain and expand all quality certifications.
  • Build and develop a high-performing manufacturing and freight coordination team. Oversee training and development to enhance skills and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze production capacity and forecast future requirements. Plan and implement capital and organizational solutions to increase capacity and meet company growth objectives including a long-term inventory storage plan.
  • Implement continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or kaizen to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, implement automation and increase productivity.
  • Monitor and improve the manufacturing KPI suite such as OEE, yield, cases per labor hour and others to drive performance. Identify and mitigate bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the manufacturing process.

SALARY RANGE
$175,000 -- $200,000 + bonus
