Vice President, Operations -- Midwest

Our client is a provider of clinical footwear solutions.

THE POSITION

As a key member of the leadership team, the VP actively contributes to formulating and executing the company’s business operations strategies, plans and policies. This role involves effectively communicating operational strategies to relevant teams; fostering employee alignment with company goals; and serving as a vital partner to the CEO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the right-hand person to the CEO, overseeing all facets of company operations, strategy and growth.
  • Display in-depth knowledge of all departmental functions, providing continuous monitoring, evaluation and adjustments.
  • Optimize operations for this unique engineer-to-order manufacturing – primarily pick-pack – and ship distribution organization.
  • Support the implementation of an organization-wide quality management system (QMS).
  • Ensure the environmental, health and safety standards of the organization and team members.
  • Further develop the organizational structure, managing day-to-day issues and maintaining cohesion among people, processes, systems, priorities and strategies.
  • Analyze and evaluate activities, expenses, operations and projections to proactively influence the ongoing success.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring proper execution to meet the company’s goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of manufacturing and warehouse operations while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration among the team.
  • Drive clarity and communication throughout the company.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of executive leadership and operational management experience in health product manufacturing or similarly regulated manufacturing; master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience managing the operations of custom-manufactured engineer-to-order products.
  • Experience managing the operations of a drop-ship warehouse fulfillment model.
  • Pedigree Lean training and enterprise-wide transformation experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Toyota Production System methodologies such as: process flow mapping, value stream mapping, 5S / visual factory, A3 development and management, TPM, SMED, standard work, process problem solving, built-in quality, just in time, kaizen / continuous improvement, hoshin kanri (SD, X Matrix) and Lean ROI.
