Vice President, Finance -- Midwest

THE POSITION

As a key member of the talented leadership team, you’ll help chart the course through short-term challenges to long-term success. With a focus on customer intimacy, new product leadership and operational excellence, you’ll play a lead role setting strategy and game plans as well as coaching your team and others to clean execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including monthly profit and loss by cost enter, forecast vs. budget and weekly cash flow by division.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations.
  • Identify, develop and execute analysis of business initiatives, product launches and/or ad hoc projects.
  • Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget.
  • Manage financial planning and analysis including development of schedules, reports and other tools for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data.
  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, compliance and financial procedures.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors; manage preparation and support of all external audits.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor’s and master’s in accounting along with a CPA certification.
  • Three to five years of Controller-level experience in a manufacturing setting with background in general, corporate and managerial accounting.
  • Experience-based know-how of the ins and outs of accounting practice and procedure in a publicly held company.
  • Outstanding teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills. This includes the ability to effectively communicate at all levels, up and down the business.
  • Great stories of accomplishment and leadership.
  • Excellent analytical and business reporting skills and experience.
  • Strong background in accounting practices and controls with a keen understanding of how various activities and entries build toward a clean balance sheet and other financials.
  • Lean manufacturing / Lean financial knowledge a plus.
