Sr. Director, Operational Excellence -- Open (Closed)

THE POSITION

The mandate is to create a culture of operational and customer excellence, execute Lean transformation and drive business value through continuous improvement tools and methodologies. The ideal candidate will create an enterprise-level Lean operating system to drive and sustain focused improvements throughout the organization. Our client is seeking an individual to drive strong operational excellence and continuous improvement identity created through the systematic application of Lean and CI principles, methodologies and associated tools. This ensures sustainable optimization of performance in the areas of quality, delivery and cost, while maintaining a safe environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executes the transformation standard across branch operations, sales and business groups as identified by transformation and operational excellence agenda.
  • Manages the introduction of tools and processes to support the transformation as countermeasure to an identified problem.
  • Facilitates kaizen events within the organization and provides coaching to others learning kaizen process.
  • Supports the strategy deployment process.
  • Develops and manages systems and processes to ensure compliance with Plan, Do, Check and Adjust processes.
  • Provides mechanism to track and report scorecard of Operational Excellence transformation measures through weekly / monthly accountability.
  • Executes focused transformations and operational excellence deployment utilizing an extensive playbook of Lean tools and methodology.
  • Uses Lean MB&C, MS and OS diagnostic tools to identify full potential opportunities and gap closure plans.
  • Teaches, mentors and coaches to optimize functioning of Lean Six Sigma teams.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree a must; preferred focus in engineering, business or supply chain.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing and / or warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrated five-plus years of continuous improvement leadership.
  • Working knowledge of Lean and demonstrated use of its applications.
